1/2 Cup Tamari Soy Sauce
1/2 Cup Pineapple Juice
1 Cup Water
1Tbsp Minced Garlic
1/4 tsp Ground Ginger (optional, I don't care for it)
1 Cup Honey
Bring all ingredients to a boil in a sauce pan.
Reduce to medium heat and simmer for about 15 minutes until reduced by half.
The mixture will be bubbly while simmering, so take off heat to check reduction after 15 minutes.
Vuala! Teriyaki sauce =D
I'm sorry to tell you this but both teriyaki and soy are illegal on SCD.

Thank you, you are correct.
DeleteIf you use SCD legal (homemade) soy sauce, this IS SCD LEGAL! And teriyaki is only non-legal because of the ingredients in it. Homemade with legal ingredients is fine.
ReplyDeleteSCD legal is not synonymous with homemade.
DeleteIf you have a secret to making soy sauce without soy, I'd love to hear it. Otherwise, please stop spreading misinformation as soy is simply not legal in any form:

"...all Soya products fermented or not are illegal."
Thank you for your comments. I will change this to a non SCD post and search frantically for an alternative to sauce sauce! I love teriyaki sauce lol
DeleteI know that Tamari Soy Sauce does not contain wheat. However, Elaine still does not recommend soy. Please see: http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/knowledge_base/detail/soy/
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely correct. For some reason I completely missed that. This is a sad day lol. I love my teriyaki sauce. I suppose this will have to be a non-SCD post. Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention.
DeleteTry Coconut Aminos
ReplyDeleteI was just looking up this recipe (I'm new to SCD), and I found that there is a product called Coconut Aminos. I'm not sure yet if this is "legal", but there is hope....:O)
ReplyDeleteI thought soy sauce wasn't SCD legal...
ReplyDeleteCoconut aminos and the homemade soy sauce recipe would work in this as substitutes
